Notice to viewers of the videos.

We receive complaints from various sources that videos halfway stop playing. We too see this phenomena not only on the 2013 videos, but also on older material.

This appears to be a problem with the web hosting company. In the coming days I will discuss this matter with them, in the mean time, close the web page, wait a few moments and retry again.

Maastricht 2013 dress rehearsal

Typically the Maastricht concerts start with a dress rehearsal on the preceding Thursday.

Not this year, the official dress rehearsal was held at the start of the 2nd weekend. During this second weekend, Andre will record two concerts which will be the base for the concert which will be broadcast in the cinemas on Saturday July 13th.

This time he is doing all introductions in English and oh boy, how he looks at details. He even spotted that Teun was not wearing the same glasses as he always does during concerts…

Surprise boxes (with snacks, water, a waffle and André's personal letter to the veterans) on the seats! To read the translated letter, click HERE for the Harmony Parlor.

A photographer of "the Limburger" shared our view. The next day the photo appeared on the front page, with Ruud in the right corner below.

June 29th: Veterans Day.

Saturday June 29th 2013 is the National Veterans Day. All (ex) military who served in conflict areas or peace keeping missions are thanked for their work. The main event was in The Hague with a parade of veterans passing King Willem-Alexander. After this event many soldiers took a (sponsored) train ride to Maastricht, where André and Pierre had invited them for a free concert. The video below shows an impression of the veterans marching onto the Vrijthof, the National Anthem (Wilhelmus) and the Glenn Miller medley with the André Sisters.

NOTE: the little accordion boy is Johan Wiersma, 10 years old. He is already playing the accordion for 4 years. He won a music contest and the first price was a performance with the Johann Strauss Orchestra. In December 2013 the Dutch TV will broadcast a program about him and that's why the recordings were made.

André and (many) Friends, featuring the ‘Jostiband’

The Netherlands is the only country with a large orchestra entirely consisting of mentally challenged orchestra members. A number of years ago, Andre already performed with this orchestra as can be seen here. Now the biggest challenge of his life: to have the JSO and Jostiband play together during a live concert! And what a concert! These guys made the show! See for yourself in the video below. Their conductor: Lyan Verburg.

On the truck: Jostiband Orchestra. Music from the heart. Everyone is special.
